Shopify App Development

We design, build and run Shopify apps, from the embedded admin UI to the webhooks, billing and background jobs behind it. Our own app, SyncStock, is live on the Shopify App Store.

What we build for Shopify

Embedded admin apps

Apps that live inside the Shopify admin, built with Shopify's Polaris design system so merchants feel at home from the first screen.

Webhooks and real-time sync

Reliable handling of orders, refunds, inventory and product webhooks, with retries, idempotency and a nightly check that fixes anything that drifted.

Inventory and catalogue logic

Multi-location stock, bundles, multipacks and linked listings, worked out per location so one store's sale never touches another's numbers.

Shopify Billing

Free and paid plans with trials through the Shopify Billing API, so merchants pay on their usual Shopify invoice.

Minimal permissions and privacy

Only the access scopes the app needs, GDPR webhooks handled, and merchant data deleted after uninstall.

App Store submission

Listing copy, icons in Shopify's formats, review requirements and the fixes reviewers ask for, through to approval.

Built by us: SyncStock

SyncStock is our own Shopify app for shared inventory, designed, built and run by BlanketByte.

The problem

Shopify counts every listing separately, so selling one item as a single, a 3-pack and in a gift box leads to overselling and manual recounts.

What we built

Listings link to one base item with units per sale. Every online order, POS sale, return, cancellation and admin edit updates all linked listings within seconds, at every location.

Light touch

Permissions limited to products, inventory and locations. No theme code, no customer data, and everything deleted 48 hours after uninstall.

How a project works

  1. Scope the workflowWe map what merchants do today, which Shopify data the app needs and which permissions it can do without.
  2. Prototype in the adminAn embedded prototype in a development store, so you can click through the real flow early.
  3. Build and hardenWebhooks, background jobs, billing and the edge cases: returns, multiple locations, other apps changing stock.
  4. Launch and runApp Store submission or private install, then monitoring, support and new features.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you build public App Store apps or custom apps?

Both. We build public apps for the Shopify App Store, like SyncStock, and custom apps installed on a single store or a group of stores.

Which technologies do you use for Shopify apps?

Shopify's app stack with React and Polaris for the embedded admin UI, Node.js/TypeScript or Kotlin services for webhooks and background jobs, and PostgreSQL for data.

Can you help get an app approved on the Shopify App Store?

Yes. We prepare the listing, icons and review materials and handle the requirements reviewers check, as we did for SyncStock.

Can you connect Shopify to our other systems?

Yes. We build the API and sync layer between Shopify and your ERP, warehouse, CRM or internal tools, and can add an admin panel or MCP server on top. See everything we build.
